The Advanced Cardiothoracic Surgical Skills Program (ACSSP) is designed for students who have successfully completed and developed fine motor skills at the Basic - Intermediate Cardiothoracic Surgical Skills Summer Internship. This two-week intensive Advanced Program will further strengthen students’ knowledge and allow them to hone their skills by performing complex congenital heart procedures, including Tetralogy of Fallot repair, Norwood procedure, Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) implantation, and Fontan procedure. This program is fast-paced and highly rigorous.

Housing Cost: Includes lodging, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), is provided for students at an additional cost which will be announced at a later date.
Minors traveling alone will be supervised 24/7 by our resident advisors. This cost is an additional $995.00 per program (Basic-Intermediate or Advanced.)

The program fee includes two pairs of scrubs for each student. This fee also covers the use of surgical instruments, sutures, LVAD devices, aortic valves, porcine hearts, heart boxes, and other medical supplies to perform various surgical procedures.
